Answer: Apple reports that there will be a wifi verison and a 3G version of the iPad.
The Wifi will only work off a local wireless network and doesn't need to be payed for, unless it is required by a public hotspot.
The 3G version works off of AT&T network, and you’ll have to pay them to get mobile broadband access on it.
Answer: there are two versions, the ipad and ipad 3g, the 3g is the version you’ll have to play monthly for. it will allow you access to world wide web when wifi isn’t available, for $14.99 a month. but you can just get the normal wifi version for 500 and use it the normal wifi feature.
Answer: “real laptop”! no way this thing is one sweet piece of hardware unless you need to do some word processing or do presentation work with excel but then again if you do then stay at your office and work over time. this thing is simply for fun, as for your questions about the wifi, yes it is enabled so it can pick up free internet connections when it is within range so basically you can sit at mcdonalds or starbucks and be connected to the net and use apples version of world wide web explorer called safari no cost no worries.
Answer: All models have wifi. Wifi will use any wireless internet just like a personal would, so it would be free. 3G which is world wide web that a lot of phones are using now is optional, and if you select to use it you would need to get a data plan through a phone company.
Answer: report me!! now!!! i love pie… ps.. the ipad is stupid. eww I'M JUST KIDDING… Nah, the ipad is just like anyother wifi user… u wont need to pay extra.. and it's NOT the new version of the itouch.. it's like a supersized version of the itouch,,, it's supposed to be a laptop
Answer: You have to pay for 3g wireless internet.
You don't have to pay for wifi (as in wifi in your home, or a company/school network)
Answer: Save your money, buy a real laptop.
You have to subscribe to AT&T on top of paying for the iPad.
Waste of $$.
Answer: It's wifi… you never have to pay extra for wifi. It's like the iTouch, not the iPhone.
Answer: It runs on the 3G network (what smart phones use), and yes, you are required to pay for it.
