I have issues with Vista I can't understand, would rather have XP, new, with a warenty, on the internet. I do have a budget, sadly. Not all the money in the world. Preferrably 1000 dollars or under, if I sound cheap about that, I'm sorry. I'm only a high school student.
Business.
You pay for a Vista License and then use that license on XP instead
That usually means you’ve to buy your laptop from the small business store.
For instance, the Dell small business store gives you the option to have Windows XP pre-downgraded for you on any laptop.
Here's a link http://www.dell.com/content/products/cat…
You can also purchase any laptop with Vista Ultimate or Business, take it to any IT professional or reputable computer shop and have it downgraded for $200-300
You need to purchase a new pc with vista Business or ultimate which according to Microsoft enables you to down gradable rights in which case you also get xp for free. Check VERY CAREFULLEY with the company (i.e.: dell, Sony, Toshiba, gateway etc) if they’re offer such service. Just because they can do it that does not mean that they will or know about it. Good luck.
I have buy laptops from these guys in the past and they’re a good company to deal with:

I know from an ad I just got yesterday that starting Friday (Aug 1) they’ll have some Dells with XP (and they have the accidental damage coverage on them) and some Apple Powerbooks and imacs for sale. They usually have low starting price (like $10 or something) and no reserve, so the highest bidder actually wins!!!
Best of luck
Give them a try

MS will support XP till 2010 I believe but huge repairs and security patches only. That's if you have a legit copy of XP.
If you get lucky, you might find a left-over somewhere.
i got a 3000.00 dollar laptop for only 300.00 dollars.
just make sure you get what your wanting like xp, dvd rom
etc.
