HPs are the regular brands, Go for an Apple Macbook … These are high end machines and come with a Nvidia 9400M or a 9600gt card in it with 2 or 4 GB DDR 3 memory.. they also have good processors in them and have the led display unit in them that make the screen amazingly comfy to the eyes, also the backlit keyboard helps typing in the dark.. Macbooks also come with the dual boot option, so you can have windows and Mac at the same time. Whats more you’ll have a uniquely beautiful machine. Apples macbooks are made of solid aluminum and have astounding battery life. Purchased mine at a special student discount…

Well my laptop is the M-6864FX, but if you don't want gaming basically the same thing is the M-6862. It has been extraordinary for my purposes, small amounts of gaming, lots of typing, some video encoding and editing, and a little motion picture watching :). I wouldn't recommend Mac if you like a lot of software, or if you want a low price. For example:

It is just as cool looking and it's 550 dollars cheaper…
So if you want to be a cool person who has a Mac, go for it, but if you want a great laptop, a low price, and something that meets your needs, get an HP or a Gateway.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm no Mac hater, I just hate that people lump cool computer users as Mac users, and Nerds and Geeks as PC/Linux users… Over time it tends to get someone pretty angry. ( No I don't use linux… But I know what it is and what most people think of it xD )
