and such things like that and with a netbook can i use the web anywhere i go?
Netbooks usually have no CD/DVD drive to save space. So you need an external drive to load programs or games …if that’s an issue. You can get a USB drive which plugs in if you want. So you can't pop in a motion picture or etc. Maybe not a huge deal, maybe a very huge deal.
Smaller keyboard.
Smaller screen.
No modem.
Usually XP or some version of Linux not Vista.
Really fast boot up and loading due to Bios config.
Atom processor typically which is a power saver.
I like my netbook because it is so compact. You can close the lid it goes to sleep and comes back to life quickly. It is great…if you get a network card from a cellular company you basically have full blown computer experience wherever you go (of course that costs about 50.00 a month but still very cool). I loaded MS Office and it runs great.
What you loose is a more massive screen and keyboard, the CD drive and also fewer USB ports, no modem if you use dial up, (but a LAN port and wireless built in) and no PCMCIA slot (but mine has a PC Express slot).
What you get is portability, girls can throw this thing in their purse if it is a big purse.
I would not probably have it as my only computer but lots of people do. Also one last thing. Some netbooks have a flash storage which is quite small, look for one with a real hard drive mine is 120gb I think.
