My desktop is SLOWLY dying so I know I'm gonna need a new one here pretty soon…it's just an acer anyway, so I wanna upgrade to something superior!
What is your opinion on the ideal brand for computers?
I want to get a laptop…nothing with Windows Vista (i'll prolly have to request it)
But, ideal brand? Best price? and why??

Personally, I love Compaq. I had one for about five years or more until it was dropped. I never had a problem with it. I could plug in a phone line to it before wireless came out and get the internet with no problem. It never overheated, never had to reset it to factory restore. I had a Dell (sucks) and am currently using HP (it's okay). Truthfully, things just are not made like they use to make them. Hope this helps.

the “best” depends onhow you would use it and what level of performance do you need.

you would need a hi end, pricey laptop if you would use it for gaming, programming, development, multimedia development. but if you just want some internet, word processing and office applications, you could get by with a basic laptop.

There is no “best” laptop. It all depends on your needs, your budget, and your personal preferences. Hp and Dell are pretty good brands to look into though.
