First time macbook user?

I'm looking into buying a macbook. They're a bit pricy,so I'd have to settle with 1 gig of ram and 160 gig hd. Would this be slow? Thanks for any help.

Depends what you intend to do with it. If you run software that needs a lot fo RAM then it might be slow. If you're just using it as a family personal, internet,word processing. Then it will be fine.
