“Slate” style TabletPC's aren't as common as convertible styles, but they're the type I prefer, too.

There are a few manufacturers of these. Google the following:

Motion Computing

Sahara Computing

Fujitsu Personal

Electrovaya Personal

They are more costly than the convertibles as they are not considered a “consumer” level product.

Which one is ideal for you will be determined by your needs. I'd lean towards Sahara as they have good machines with dual-screen technology (touch screen & Wacom digitizer combined).
