Should my CPU be making a slight noise?

a fairly soft squeaky noise thats not that loud when 30cm away from laptop screen.
it can easily be heard when i put my ear next to the fan vent (where the cpu is)

cpu fans make noise, although you might also be hearing the hard drive, the power supply fan, other fans. its fine, just getting a bit old or dusty.

It's probobly the fan, one thing you could do if you're careful enough, is remove the cover of the PC, and turn it on, then listen to see if it IS the CPU. if it is, take it to a shop.

CPU's don't make noise…if yours is doing so..something is very wrong..
But im sure its not ure CPU and most likely the disc drive that you’re hearing…or also the fans!!
