I have a macbook that was bought in might 2009. Soda was split on it, and apple care wants $800 to fix it.
At this point in my life i am very broke and i would rather get as much from my macbook as possible. Does anyone know where i can sell slightly used macbook parts?
Answer: Your ideal bet is to Craigslist it or Ebay it. Your other resort is to report it to your insurance company. In some cases they’ll cover it, depending on your policy. You will definitely be able to sell it on Ebay. Try doing a search before you put it out there so you know how to list it. Macs sell no matter what!
Answer: Split it into parts and sell them on ebay. You should easily get some cash back for any working parts, especially screen (which get damaged easily by clumsy laptop owners), trackpads, optical drives, batteries, bezels - top/bottom case halves, lid, latches, ancillary parts like the power supply, any other cables you’ve, the original installer disk(s), manuals. Even the box might sell for someone who has purchased a 'refurb' Mac (they come in plain brown boxes) and is trying to sell it on ebay as it increases value.
Answer: Golly gosh! I guess an expensive personal doesn't guarantee it'll always work, huh? If you get in a PC I have the ability to always advise you on a cheap system and free programs for it, but if you need money for it… hmm.
There are several companies that sell refurbished personal, and they need to get their parts from somewhere. But I'm at a loss as to where to get them.
Answer: I’ve sold dozens of laptops and laptop parts. The best place is still eBay even though I've grown to care about them less and less. Craigslist is a distant second since your ad will only be local and a pc shop will only give you salvage value if that.
Answer: I don't think anyone wants Macbook parts at all, let alone ones that are covered in Dr. Pepper.
Answer: eBay or Amazon.
