How do I get scratches off the shiny casing part on the inside of my Asus N50Vc laptop?

On the 3rd picture, the long, shiny part which the hinge attaches to, underneath the ASUS logo, and around the edges of the thing that surrounds the screen (the part with the ASUS in the 3rd picture) there’s shallow scratching where I have wiped dust off the thing (dumb, I know) without using a blower, but I need to get it off so I can sell it again.
How would I go about this? Maybe polish or something?

Don't laugh..but use some automobile polish! It will remove the scratches, try one of the Mother's Products from Pep Boys or AutoZone. I’ve used it to take scratches out of automobile lenses and laptops. Be careful not to rub to hard or do it to many times, you’ll take the finish off!
