Hi there, I’ve a Dell Inspiron 1520 and lately i have been having problems with the audio on it. It just wont work no matter what, i have tried everything. i even reinstalled the drivers for the audio, which work but once you turned the laptop off and then turned it back on later again it would stop working!!! Anyone have any ideas how I can solve this problem?

Run CHKDSK, it finds missing or corrupt files, also insert your recovery disk, close the window when it appears, enter cmd into the run commands and type in sfc /scannow it will also recovery missing system files, works with Xp. With Vista you don't need to insert the disk
