Why are my photos and words small on my laptop?

Okay so I opened up my laptop and my words are all thin and small… they're REALLY skinny and the shortcuts on my desktop… The picture thingies are smaller too.. Is there like a Control Panel program I have the ability to use?? I'm not a great tech guy

I tried zooming in, the words are really skinny and i cant zoom in right in between… maybe that's the problem????
can i just resize everything… the zoom reset isnt working either and its really bothering me

Sounds like your resolution has changed.
Vista = Right click on desktop -> Personalize -> Display settings -> Change the resolution slider
