Hi
I started my laptop up the other day and it said it needed to check systm C. Vista. So i let it do that, and it was going fine until it stopped at around 80% phase three.
I dont comprehend what is up with it,
Does it have a virus? I really dont know :S
Could anyone please advise me, i read on a website its something to do with not shutting down properly which sometimes i dont do. If i am in a rush i just cut of the power.
Please help!
Thanks
Answer: WAIT disk check takes time, do it when you go to bed.
Answer: Cant be totally sure but if it is running chkdisk I would state that something has gotten into the boot sector of the program and windows is trying to figure what it is. Hate to say it but could be a virus of some sort and if you turn the computer off it will probably duplicate itself somewhere else. you might try bringing it up in safe mode and letting it run again to see if it can come back to normal vista window. Things like this aren't simple but with some dillegance you will probablly fix it. Sorry I never really liked vista anyway but have seen it do this before and took a while to repair but finally did.
Answer: Try slecting the other option… the one that needs you to reboot your computer in order to check the disk.
on your desktop, look for “computer” click on it, look for “C” disk and right click on it. click on tools tab and there you will see “check disk for errors' or something to that.
and there are two options to check. one of them will prompt you and ask you that it will have to be done when you reboot.
then when you reboot it will do a swift scan of your disk and repair stuff.. then later you’ll be able to finish the scan…
this happned to me as well… that seemed to work out okay for me. I hope that helps.
Answer: This isn’t a virus. A computer will fun a check disk if it isn’t shut down properly. You’ve to be patient and let the scan run totally. if the scan freezes again them boot into safemode and do the scan again. Once the scn is done defrag your computer.
Answer: Well anyone with a brain cell knows you have to always close computers down properly to prevent corruption. What rush could you possibly be in that you cant do Control, Alt & Delete??? That's the price you pay for stupidity I'm afraid.
Answer: Take it in to be checked. Sometimes I find that if I leave something for a while, it will work the next day. Try that.
Answer: If the defragmenter is not working, download Diskeeper. Its awesome!
Answer: get windows xp
