What I'd like to know is, What kind of Mac laptop do you have? What do you like/dislike about it? If you had it to do over again, which Mac would you purchase or what features would you include that you didn't get when you bought the machine.
I was a life long Microsoft user. Then when my Dell's motherboard fried, I bought and returned three different Vista SP1 personal because of Microsoft Vista problems and their refusal to service their product or identify what they were trying to correct it, I had no idea if he problem affecting me would ever get addressed. So I bought a MacBook Pro. All Macs have the capability to run XP or Vista using bootcamp. I loaded XP and now have 2 OSs and the best of both worlds and thankfully, nothing to do with Vista. I can run all my applications whch is something I could never do with Vista SP1 Computers.
If you are a student and your main use is school work, I would tell you to go with a MacBook because it's the top selling laptop for students. If you need something that will handle gaming, graphics, film editing, making music, mixing Photo editing; I would advocate the MacBook Pro. If you want to game, you’ll need to purchase XP and install it though Bootcamp and run games that require the high mid range level.
If you’re at the beginning level, a Macbook maybe enough for you. But if you run the games graphics and things that require the higher density screens, than you will need a MacBook. Macs come with software applications called iLife that are free that Vista or XP users don’t. Quicktime is far clearer than Windows Media Player and Safari is better than IE7 for sure and is faster than Firefox 3.0. The OS is more user friendly and takes less steps to move from tasks or applications and finding files, photos or movies is more of a visual experience than with the more mechanical Windows.
You’ll find XP or Vista if you load it on a Mac, runs much faster and superior than on Personal computers with the OS pre-loaded. A Mac also makes your computer simpler to personalize and customize to your uses.
Also with an Apple, you get 90 days of free technical help from Apple. And they’ll walk you through anything and help you convert all your files to your personal for free. Ask that of Microsoft and see what they say.
If you select a Mac, I comprehend the new models have already shipped and are on their way-so you may have to wait a while-at least that’s what I would advocate to get all the new features.
I hope that helps.
