MAC IMovie and Garageband Question…?

I’ve video clips that I recorded in photobooth. I need to chipmunk the voice on some of them, in garageband. So I have it changed in garageband, and when I try to save it as .mov it says it can't so saves it as .mov.band
Then I movie won't let me import the file! How can I chipmunk the voice AND be able to use it in IMovie? Thanks!
