I'm looking to purchase a good lightweight laptop to carry around on campus. I have the ability to spend around $500 - $800 dollars. Any ideas?

Whatever you do, don't purchase a HP Pavilion Tx1000 Tablet. It sounds awesome at first but I know of at least 63 people who bought this personal and had it crash as soon as the warranty was out. I know this doesn't answer your question, but I'm trying to let people know that buying the laptop is a terrible idea.

But to answer your question, I would just go to different computer websites and looking under the smaller computers section. Usually they’ve one. Then just find the cheapest one and work your way up from there. Then make sure to read as many reviews as you can about the laptop so you don't end up getting a faulty laptop like me.

go to ebay they have new and used computers of all types and you can look even at last minute auctions and get one that fits your needs. and you would get a good one for the price your wanting. just make sure the seller of the item has a good % rating it is near his name. The one that i enjoy it the new touchscreen notebook laptop you can turn the screen and turn it around and then use your finger to surf.. or work. hope this helps.

Great laptop. I got this one for only $700 (regular 1500) back in August. Most likely has went down a lot, so you should get a good deal on it anywhere.
Research the computer. It is the special edition so it has a great graphic look to the cover!

It also comes with the ideal graphics card ever built! And has litescribe technology which allows you to inscribe lables on your cd (special cds purchased) without printing lables.
