I want to buy a new laptop unless the one that's broken can be fixed and I even asked how to repair it on yahoo:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;… (It isn't the battery, It works in my sister's laptop which is exactly the same as mine)
I want it to have quite a bit of memory because I'm a bit of a gamer so, yeah. I'd rather not have it too large because I don't like huge things, but I don't want it really small either. I don't care what make it is or how heavy it is. I don't mind if you're selling one on Ebay either as long as it's clean.

Here's the important bit: It can't be more that £400 (basically £399) It can only be a teeny weeny bit over but as I would be paying half for it, I don't even have that much, so yeah.

I hope my choices aren't too limited, but if they’re, please just give me your choices for a good laptop. :)

Answer:
the one that Curry's do for £350 - it's a Compaq - can't remember the model number, but it's very good value

avoid AMD, avoid Intel Celerons

go for Intel Dual-Core, and at least 2GB RAM

Answer:
For features of gaming, good physical memory, light, good looking and reasonably affordable laptop, I would suggest a Dell Studio XPS. They have 13″ screen and 16″ screen. I feel 13″ is too small. So 16″ screen may be perfect for entertainment purpose. Good luck on your selection.
