my laptop cord broke and i bought a new one that was made for my type of laptop and it still doesn't work…..what could the problem?……..i was sitting at the table with the cord stretched across the room and my dog went running into it and bent the tip of the recharge cord but it doesn't look like the prong inside the laptop where it plugs in is broke…what should i do?
Answer: This, im afraid is bad luck, it would seem that your dog has damaged the internal connector in some way, this is difficult as you might have to get this fixed on warranty if you’ve a warranty, if not it's going to cost a lot to have this looked at by the manufacturers technicians. I can only recommend trying to speak to a local technicial to see if he has the ability to source and replace the part for you, but this is a very unlikely to produce a positive result, you probably have tiny choice but to invest in a new laptop.
Answer: If you look on the inside of your laptop (yeah you'll need a screwdriver and worse a soldering iron) it may be that the solder points where the AC adapter plugs in to is cracked/broken.
You may be able to test this my moving the plug opposite from the direction your dog ran. But one you let go, it will spring back and disconnect.
Answer: most likely the the component that the cord attaches to has come undone, and it might be as simple, just re-soldering the connection.
if you know any one, how is capable of soldering, ask him/her to have a look at it, it might be a easy and cheap fix, if the warranty is out, open the sucker up. good luck.
Answer: you should get a new one obviosuly
