so i want to purchase a new laptop .. i've had bad experience with HP so dont want that …
i basically need something where i can do my school work .. n play my media like movies n music
i'm not looking for a gaming laptop .. just media n work
so i'm guessing i need something with GOOD SPEED, RAM , hard disk space and BATTERY LIFE!

you want a thinkpad. they are the cream de la crem of the laptop world. ive had an old R40 since 2003, and it still holds a good charge, runs super fast and has never broken. they’re super durable. i droped it numorus times.

Go to Bestbuy or Futureshop they have a very good selection of from low price to upper price laptops. I just bought a Toshiba L450 T4400 with 3 gigs of ram and 250 gigs HD, its has cam, dvd burner, 3 usb ports, a extra monitor port, ear fone slot with a 15.6″ monitor. and windows 7 plus I put in KIS all in all $650. There are lots of others go talk to the lads at Bestbuy (here in Cda their not on commision) while Futureshop lads are. Take your choice, and buy from the one that gives u the best deal.
Also bought a Microsoft mouse w/usb connection as I find those touch pads never work right
