I don't think you should purchase it right now. Maybe wait for the price to come down a bit. Especially if you already have a touch and laptop. Just wait for the hype to calm down and then if you are still really interested in it then go ahead and buy it.

Definitely don't buy the first version, wait until the newer less buggier ones come out.

Ipad is ridiculously overpriced, even for an apple product. There’s hardly anything worth doing that you won't be able to do on a ipod and a laptop.
