I’m going to buy a laptop and there are various Intel dual core processors to select from - some have T2000 e.t.c and some have T5000 e.t.c - which is superior? The one with the higher numbers? Also, is there a huge difference between the two?

Answer:
In the 'T' series of Intel processors, it ranges from a Dual-Core Pentium to Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extremes.

Dual-Core Pentium is the weakest of the 'T' series, they’re made for low-level gaming and multitasking along with normal daily basis personal use.

The Core 2 Duo and Extreme series are made for high-end gaming (although laptops aren't built for gaming, they heat easily) and lots of multi-tasking with multimedia or graphics processing.

Depending on what you get, usually the T2000's are the Pentiums, and the Core 2 and Extremes are the T5000's- T9000's.
