hi i have a brand new hp pavillion dv6000 laptop and i was playing drift city game (drift.ijji.com) and suddenly the screen shut down. This happened once before too but then today. when it happened, it stated it was some hardware problem and it was caused by nvidia

so what should i do now?

should i exchange my laptop because of the 3yr warranty or just keep it?

Well you’ve to be a bit more specific. Did the screen shut down (turn black) or did it become black and white and gray zigzags.

If the screen shut off, first thing I'd check is Battery

As for the zigzags, I usually just force reboot. Doesn't happen to often.

To prevent these problems, make sure you

a) have the vents are clear. My HP Pavilion dv9000 gets steamy while gaming

b) update all your drivers to the newest. To do this run Windows Update, HP HealthCheck, and HP Update.

My HP dv9000 is sweet and I wouldn't want to return it. I recommend you just update well and be patient to see if the problem persists.
