I’m looking to buy a laptop. Found one that I like within my price range. Not very high price range to begin with! :) It comes with the GMA X3100. I am going to be using this mainly to watch on the internet streaming video, and some video editing - basically downloading children video from the camcorder, doing some editing and writing to DVDs. Will this integrated card be good enough?

Answer:
The X3100 will suit you needs just fine. Video editing uses the CPU rather than video card mainly. Go with a dual core or better and you should be okay.

The video card is mainly used when you’re watching hi-def videos (e.g videos in high resolution from Blu-Ray or HD video from Youtube) and playing games.

Video editing still relies mostly on the CPU — if you edit videos as a hobby you might want to invest on a laptop with a fast CPU, and generous amounts of RAM (3 to 4 GB). You don't have to worry about the GPU — that's mostly for playing 3d games.

It's fine.. But in the same price bracket you can also get a laptop with Intel 4500 MHD, both of them are integrated solutions.. the 4500 is the newer version which is a bit better.

Answer:
If you plan to do absolutely NO gaming whatsoever, it'll suffice.
