I can't seem to get the current thing out that’s in there. I think it's just there to fill in the gap. I mean I've tried pushing it, lifting, pulling, clicking.

i have the same remote in mine, on the left side of the laptop, just under the edge, and above the SD card slot, push into the laptop with plenty of pressure, dont be afraid of damaging the laptop, i doubt you can apply enough pressure to do that. when you feel it depress, and you hear a soft “click” pull you hand away, and you should see the remote pop out a tiny, you can then grab it and pull it out the rest of the way.

Next to the slot where it is, is a small square button. It should be flush with the remote. PUSH that tiny button. It will pop out a bit. Push it in again, and it will push the remote out, and go back to being flush at the same time.

Try pushing it inward to make it pop out, thats how my dell works.

Sometimes there’s a button on the side of the PCMIA (sp?) slot.
