My laptop asus A6rp can run vista but in a very slow and sluggish performance because of its low performance video card. Now I wonder if the problem may still go on in windows 7. they said that windows 7 is more faster than vista. but I don't know if is it real. now I want to know if my laptop can run windows 7 smoothly?

Answer:
I used to run windows vista and am currently using Windows 7 RC built on my Personal computer. What I can tell you is that the performance between vista and 7 are about the same, 7 just slightly boot faster and also I like their added features (such as library documents, cool themes, just additional stuff). As far as performance wise for your laptop, if Vista did not work flawlessly in your laptop, you’ll not see any improvement if you installed 7 because again, they both perform really similar.

Just like the previous guy posted, you can now download windows 7 RC built here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows…
(However, by March 2010, Microsoft will shut down your Computer every 2 hours if you still have windows 7 RC built installed in your PC, just keep that in mind)

Answer:
Windows 7 is only at the Release Candidate right now and some things might change by the final version.

Though it runs a tiny more smoothly than Vista in most cases, if your personal had major problems with Vista it's prone to still have them with 7 — especially if it was due to something like the video card.

You can try turning off the Aero effects if you haven't already.

Anyway, if you want more it would help to know your personal specs and what video card you're using. You could probably anticipate improvement from 7, but not miracles.

Answer:
It's real but you have to have enough space in your laptop to install it. By the way Windows 7 didn't come out yet. Or i think you're talking about the beta version that's NOT available for DOWNLOADING OR INSTALLING now.

Answer:
You can download windows 7 RC here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows…

But download the compatibility check first.

Answer:
If it has trouble with Vista, it will probably have trouble with 7
