To connect over a network you’ll need to be connected to a network like a wireless or wired network. You will need to be logged into both machines with the same ID and password, and share out one of the folders.

If you right click on a folder and select Sharing, you can share the folder to your own ID. Then it will show up on the other machine when you browser to it in your network places.
