I would like to purchase a laptop since I have the ability to barely get on my desktop at home anymore but am confused on brand and model.
Will I be able to get world wide web on it or do I need to buy something to attach to my DSL line at home? I heard of a wireless box I can buy but am confused on the whole thing.
I will use it mostly for recreational use but I also would like to download games onto it (Warcraft the expansion pack comes to mind).
Also should I buy it on the web (such as newegg.com) or through Bestbuy or Circuit City?
I would like to keep it under my $1000 budget (and would love to save) but I might budge on price
Thanks in advance.
Answer: I would recommend you do some research (www.cnet.com) and look at what the editors advocate. if you don’t understand the jargon, then it is ideal to go in store and speak to the sales people. when they advocate a model, write it down and google it to see what other people consider it. when you make your decision, then buy it where ever it is cheapest, (although i personally hate ordering online). And yes you’ll be able to attach your laptop to the dsl line, either via ethernet or wireless (if you have a wireless router). unless you use your laptop outside your house (in which case, you can get a wireless data card from your fav phone company) you do not need any more hardware.
