my personal had 2 antivirus programs. Trend micro antivirus and spysweeper both installed for 100 dollors/year at the time I bought my computer from Best Purchase. Today it expired and I’ve no money to renew them. I saw something called Kaspersky for free. What shall I do.? Shall I install it or stop using the internet till have the money to install them. I’m scared that the program that I’ll download will be the scam or virus itself. Please help I'm extremely ignorant about those things.

Answer: There are many free antivirus programs out there if you know where to look.
Any antivirus available from download.com and certified by them is guaranteed virus free.
the ideal free ones are
Avira (tested 94% effective)
AVG (88% effective)
Avast! (92% effective, but hard to navigate the menu)
just remember that an antivirus is the last line of defense. You’ll also need a firewall, antispyware tools and the latest updates for your internet browser.
I recommend Comodo firewall,
Adaware antispyware
and
Firefox browser with adblock plus
